Rain...

I so love rain. I love it for many reasons, but what makes me
love it more than anything, is this... When I'm inside my house
or any building and look outside when it's raining, I feel a
sense of security, safety, and protection. And it reminds me
that when the rain of the world's chaos and confusion is all
around us, pouring down on all sides, we Christians have calm
inside the shelter of God's promise of peace. God is like an
umbrella over us. He is a warm, dry house in a cold, wet land.

Leala Lou:
who had so many things to do that she forgot the most important thing

There was a girl named Leala Lou
She had so many things to do
Homework, tap, ballet, and sewing
The list goes on and keeps on going

Stringing beads and pulling weeds
Raking leaves that fall from trees
Candle making, cookie baking
French hair braiding, boyfriend dating

Much to do, no time left over
Not even time to pick a clover
But at day's end her father tells her
"You've done good but can do better"

A frown buries deep across her face
As she listens to her father say
"There's one more thing that you must do
Until then, you are not yet through"

She musters all the strength she has
Preparing for the job at hand
Her father smiles as he teasingly says this
"Dear, you've forgotten to give my cheek a kiss."

Billy Bob:
who murdered and now lives with guilt and regret

There was a boy named Billy Bob
All he could do was wail and sob
He said there was a weight on him
He said it was a wretched sin

You see, this boy named Billy Bob
Earlier had killed a frog
Had stomped it, squished it
Even mushed it

Had cheered himself on
Though knowing his wrong
Had hurrayed in victory
But with inner misery

For he knew his wicked killing
Would be stirring up a feeling
Of sorrow, grief, and woe
Regret might never go

Sure enough guilt came and stayed
No it wouldn't go away
"But please see" howled he
"It was evilly taunting me
He rudely stuck his wet tongue out
And also ate my pet bug Grouse."
